Background
The Maryland General Assembly (“MGA”) is the state legislature of Maryland. The MGA meets for 90-days to create and pass laws for the State of Maryland. The laws cover a wide range of issues, such as education, healthcare, transportation and the State’s b udget. The legislation of the MGA that becomes law supercedes local laws of every county and municipality in the State.
Discussion
The Board of County Commissioners (the “Board”) retained the lobby firm of Perry Jacobson to advocate on behalf of Calvert County and its legislative initiatives. During the 90-day legislative session, members of the firm, Jenna McGreevy and Timothy Perry, have been in Annapolis meeting with Delegates and Senators to support the advancement of the county’s legislative priorities.
