Background
Pursuant to Chapter 136, Article V of the Calvert County Code, the Board has authority to grant a property tax credit to real property owned by a land trust that is subject to a conservation easement and used: (1) to assist in the preservation of a natural area; (2) generally to promote conservation; or (3) for the maintenance of: (a) natural area for public access; or (b) a sanctuary for wildlife.
The Southern Calvert Land Trust (the “Trust”) submitted an application for property tax credit for the property located in Drum Point at 12905 Mills Creek Drive, Lusby. Since the beginning of this program, the Board has granted tax credits for 166 lots owned by this Trust.
